Raue Center's In-House Theater Company To Delight Audiences with The Addams Family, The Musical

The Addams Family has provided entertainment since the 1930s, beginning as a series of comic panels in The New Yorker.  In the 1960s, the concept was used to create an original television series for ABC that ran for two seasons.  A variety of films and animated series followed during the next several decades; one movie even led to the creation of the most popular-selling pinball machine of all time.

In 2019, Williams Street Repertory is putting its own spin on The Addams Family.  “If you loved growing up with the original Addams family, you’ll LOVE the musical version,” said Miriam Naponelli, Marketing Director for Raue Center.  “We have a stellar cast lined up, and our directing team features Kevin Wiczer (Director), Bryan McCaffrey (Music Director), and Kristine Burdi (Choreographer).  The Addams Family, The Musical is sure to treat the whole family to a creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky, and all together “ooky” night out!”  The performances will run from September 27th through October 20th.

“In the crazy, upside-down world of the Addams family, things are very different from what you would expect,” explained Naponelli.  “However, this quirky family has to deal with many of the same challenges faced by any other family, none more frightening than the fact that Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up.”

Wednesday has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family.  When Wednesday invites the Beinekes over for dinner to meet her family, secrets are revealed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family has to face the most horrible thing they can imagine…change

Students (age 18 and under) can purchase tickets for just $6, and college students age 27 and under can purchase tickets for $10.  Bring the whole family to enjoy this delightfully macabre musical!
