Let’s see, this week in Cincinnati, we’ve got Rascal Flatts playing the first main-stage show of the year at Riverbend Thursday, a circus in Lebanon, a beer battle at Coney Island, a community celebration in Lower Price Hill, a vintage video game expo in NKY and a winner of “America’s Got Talent” on Sunday.

Behind The Scenes At The Observatory 7 p.m., Cincinnati Observatory, 3489 Observatory Place. Look through the oldest continuously used telescope in the world; explore the depths of the 1873 observatory including its attic and basement; and learn why President Adams laid the observatory’s original cornerstone in 1843. The moon will be viewed through the telescope following the program, weather permitting.

An Evening with Nils Lofgren 8 p.m., Memorial Hall, 1222 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy nominee is a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band.

50+ Cincy Celebration 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Fountain Square, 520 Vine St., Downtown. Free. Register for free lunch courtesy of AARP by calling 877-926-8300. Celebrate adults over 50. Activities and learn about services and programs provided to older adults in our community.

Dillsboro Homecoming Festival Free admission. Rides, food, 5K Run/Walk, frog jumping contest, live music and beer garden. 812-577-2556. Runs May 15-18.

Garden Bros Circus 4:30 and 7:30 p.m., Warren County Fairgrounds, 665 N. Broadway, Lebanon. Acrobats, elephants, motorcycles in the Sphere of Fear, racing camels, the largest and smallest horses on Earth, contortionists, clowns and more.

My Brother, My Brother and Me: Become the Monster Tour 7 p.m., Taft Theatre, 317 East 5th St., Downtown.

Underground Jazz Festival 7 p.m., The Woodward Theater, 1404 Main St., Over-the-Rhine. Ages 18-up. In Her Voice featuring Tank & the Bangas.
